Study Abroad Programs

Georgia State University
2008-2009 Study Abroad Programs

Georgia State University sponsors a growing number of excellent study abroad programs around the world. These programs are developed and directed by faculty members of the various colleges, and coordinated by the Office of International Affairs, Study Abroad Programs, located in 10 Park Place, Suite 500.

Non-GSU (transient) students

Many of these programs are open to students from other universities. Students who are interested in joining a Georgia State University program as a transient student can inquire with the program director to see if they may join their program. They should also look at our list of steps for transient students.

GSU students

Credit Approval: Prior to enrollment, GSU students are advised to consult with their Academic Advisors to ensure that the credit abroad will apply to their individual degree program. Students who participate in a University-sponsored study abroad program register on campus and receive Georgia State University credit upon completion of the program.

Financial Aid: Financial aid, including federal aid and the Georgia HOPE Scholarship, applies toward the cost of study abroad for Georgia State University students. Students should consult the Office of Student Financial Aid, in 102 Sparks Hall, as soon as possible while planning for study abroad. Also see a Study Abroad Advisor regarding other available scholarships, including International Education Fee (IEF) Study Abroad Scholarship.

For more information about Georgia State University and other study abroad programs, plan to attend a Globe-Trekker Seminar, held several times a week in the Study Abroad Programs Office at 10 Park Place South, Suite 500, in the Study Abroad Resource Library. After you've attended one of these seminars, you may then speak to an Advisor individually. Please see our Advising Schedule for available hours as we no longer require appointments.
