The Office of International Affairs is Georgia State University’s central international education office. Established as a university-wide office in 1998, OIA leads the university’s efforts to include international perspectives in all aspects of teaching, research and service. OIA is committed to expanding faculty, staff and student involvement in international activities. This is achieved through:
International Cooperation Agreements with some eighty universities throughout the world.
International Strategic Initiatives that provide seed funding to support interdisciplinary collaborative research and economic development programs with partner institutions abroad.
International Program Development assistance to faculty members in proposal development and the identification of external funding.
Study Abroad Programs that provide and opportunity for nearly 500 Georgia State students to study abroad each year.

OIA also oversees international visitor coordination, advises administrative staff and faculty members on international matters and develops university-wide policies and procedures pertaining to international programs.
