International Agreements are the key to formalizing international relationships at Georgia State. Georgia State University's Guidelines and Procedures for International Cooperation Agreements represent the institution's policy guideline on entering such relationships.

At Georgia State, faculty members, i.e., "Program Directors" are primarily responsible for initiating and coordinating the development, renewal and termination of international agreements and associated programs. They do this with assistance from their colleges and university "Approving / Support Units".

The following present steps to initiating international agreements:

• Review Georgia State University's guidance on entering international relationships: Guidelines and Procedures for International Cooperation Agreements
• Decide on the extent of the relationship or collaboration; this will determine the type of international agreement to be initiated
  • The Summary of Types and Purposes of GSU International Cooperation Agreement provides a good overview.
• Check GSU's International Cooperation Agreements Database for current agreements with the proposed international institution. This may help avoid duplicating efforts and/or assist with enhancing an existing relationship.
• Download Agreement Templates.
• Draft framework of Agreement.
• Contact Ms. Kike Ehigiator in the Office of International Affairs (OIA) for guidance including information on the role of GSU approving units and the university approval process. Ms. Ehigiator may also be contacted at 404-413-2530.
• Update Agreement and submit for approval
